What is PVC double membrane?
Double PVC membrane is a specialized coating made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) that consists of two layers. The first layer is an outer coating that is resistant to adverse weather conditions, including rain, wind, snow, hail and UV radiation. The second part is intended to be responsible for thermal and acoustic insulation. As a result, the double PVC membrane used on various types of structures was to guarantee a high level of thermal and acoustic insulation, which would directly translate into noise reduction and reduction of heat losses, as well as the costs associated with the operation of the entire facility. However, only the combination of these solutions with our idea for thermal insulation of this type of facilities gave the fully expected effect.
Inspired by this type of solution, our company Quortex has specialized in designing and building professional sports halls with a double PVC membrane on almost any structure.
The innovative technological solution in the form of a double PVC membrane is famous for its many advantages, which have led to it being used very often in construction instead of traditional roof coverings. We can notice this especially in sports facilities, where when building halls, attention should be paid to several key issues, such as the safety of the structure, the size and height of the hall, lighting, ventilation, thermal and acoustic insulation, and the entire infrastructure in general. The double PVC membrane with Styrofoam insulation makes it possible to meet all the conditions set for a given place, thus contributing to improving the quality and functionality of sports facilities.
Advantages of a double PVC membrane
- resilience – the created coating is highly resistant to mechanical damage, weather conditions and chemical agents (acids, salts and bases).
- durability – the shape and size of the coating do not change due to temperature changes. Thanks to this, no damage occurs due to the expansion or contraction of materials.
- versatility – the double PVC membrane can take any shape and allows construction on a steel, concrete or wood structure. It therefore provides unlimited possibilities for designing and arranging sports space.
- acoustic insulation – only when using Styrofoam granules blown between the layers, the sounds made in the sports hall are muffled and do not penetrate outside, so the noise does not disturb the peace of ordinary residents and other entrepreneurs in the area.
- thermal isolation – only when using polystyrene granules blown between the layers, it prevents heat loss in winter and overheating in summer.
- ease of assembly and disassembly – in the event of changes in the operating conditions of a given sports facility, it allows the coating to be adapted to individual needs.
- modern look – in addition to the original design of the sports facility, you can choose a color and pattern that will attract customers' attention. Moreover, the double PVC membrane is resistant to UV radiation, so it will maintain its aesthetic appearance without discoloration for longer.

Original improvements in sports construction from Quortex
Over the last 20 years, since halls with an arched structure and double PVC tarpaulins began to be built in Poland, little has changed in the standard offered by manufacturers. Cold and wet in the winter, and unbearable fever in the summer, constantly stuck side blinds or the nightmare of rolling up heavy double tarpaulins and leaving the sides open at night - such standards strongly discourage users of such sports facilities.
For this reason, Quortex began making improvements at its own tennis facility first. Now it's time to offer Quortex's advancements to the sports construction market.
Comfort of using sports facilities regardless of the season
A well-made and thermally insulated tent hall on a structure guarantees comfortable playing all year round, practically regardless of the weather. We build halls on steel structures and glued timber structures. As standard, the hall covering is made of very durable PVC material with a flame-retardant certificate. The sides of the hall are sliding roller shutters of our own design, thermally insulated with a special mat, which can also be equipped with polycarbonate windows.
In accordance with the original concept of blown polystyrene insulation and the use of light coatings, our halls act as a kind of thermostat, thanks to which, regardless of the season and weather, there are comfortable playing conditions inside and your operating costs are minimized.
Sports halls with LED lighting - perfect light dispersion
In the halls we use LED lighting with an intensity ranging from 420 Lx to over 500 Lx in the playing field, guaranteeing perfect light dispersion without blinding the players, specially designed for the halls we propose. LED fluorescent fixtures will be distributed evenly in three rows to ensure optimal lighting of the courts. With the LED lighting solution, we guarantee high quality lighting with low operating costs.
If it is possible to connect to the gas network, we recommend heating the halls using gas heaters. To obtain an appropriate, comfortable temperature in a thermally insulated hall, it is sufficient to use heaters with a power of 2 x 32 kW for each court. This type of heating solutions will ensure appropriate comfort for future users. An alternative is to use forced-air heating powered by oil boilers or the slightly more expensive installation of gas, electric or water heaters.
